Cherry is a communications and marketing strategist who offers a rare blend of experience leading global communication strategies, marketing campaigns, and public relations. She founded Cherry Yates Communications in 2021 to pursue her passion of storytelling to help brands, organizations, and individuals build and amplify their narratives.

Her work draws from 20+ years of experience with renowned entertainment brands like National Geographic, Natgeo Mundo, Discovery Channel, Animal Planet, Fox, and FX. In her leadership positions during her time at National Geographic, FOX, and FX, she was responsible for public relations, corporate communications, digital marketing, and talent management. She conceptualized and led projects in over 30 countries and her communications expertise spans from corporate and internal communications to consumer and media relations.

As a strategic leader, she headed Corporate Communications for FOX International Channels and National Geographic Channels International, where she oversaw trade announcements, crisis management, trade media relations, speechwriting, trade events, and internal communications. Cherry has a wealth of experience in organizing and managing press set visits, junkets, and consumer events in Asia, Australia, Africa, the Middle East, Europe, Mexico, and the USA for award-winning series including FX’s Pose, Legion, Mayans, and FOX’s The Walking Dead.

Her extensive talent management experience includes working with renowned National Geographic explorers, archeologists, scientists, and A-list Hollywood actors and producers. She has worked with international press across the globe on multiple breaking news stories such as the first scanning of King Tut’s mummy in Cairo, the discovery of the Gospel of Judas, and the exploration of the Titanic for National Geographic. Cherry has also managed crisis communications in many countries dealing with local and cultural sensibilities and developed both internal and external crisis management procedures.

In her consulting role, Cherry now works across different industries from small female-owned businesses to global corporations. Her clients include Norwegian management consulting, Corporate Spring, global e-commerce delivery service, Spring GDS, non-profit, Strides for Recovery, interior design Hobbs Design including working with Independent Documentary Films for Tribeca Film Festival.

Cherry is based in LA. She formerly worked in Washington DC, and Singapore and has lived in France and Australia.
